Tap water either comes from a ground source such as a well, or a surface water source like rivers, lakes, or reservoirs. While bottled water mostly comes from spring sources. Although there are many great reasons to drink tap water, the benefits of drinking bottled water far outweigh tap water. There are many reasons why bottled water is better than tap water, reasons such as bottled water being an efficient use of natural resources, they are packaged in safe containers, and bottled water is very convenient. To begin, bottled water is an efficient use of the natural resources provided on Earth. The plastic in water bottles can be recycled to make more water bottles without using more plastic and feeding landfills. In addition, plastic in water bottles can be used to make other products that also use the same plastic. Because the water is contained in an enclosed plastic container light enough to carry, the bottles can be carried around wherever someone goes. It is impractical to carry a pitcher or a cup of water around. Grabbing a water bottle from the fridge is much faster than grabbing a cup and filling it up. Having bottled water saves a lot of time for people who are always on the move. Even after somebody has finished their water, it takes a lot of work washing a cup and putting it back in the cabinet. Meanwhile, people who enjoy having water bottles just simply toss the bottles after they are finished in the recycling bin, which helps the individual make a slight profit out of their recycled water bottles.
