Persuasive Essay: Why BPA Should Be Banned?

The ongoing debate over the chemical Bisphenol-A, lining plastic bottles and containers, sold in our grocery store, is far from over. Most notably we see BPA in plastic water bottles, plastic food containers, and other packaged foods. Plastic bottled water is terrible for consumers and should only be given out in situations such as natural disasters and severe drought to save lives when no additional clean water source is available. Plastics lined with BPA should be banned altogether. Studies show the chemical BPA, should be banned confidently. The benefits to a ban of BPA far outweigh the risks. Scientists are always looking at the benefits or risks of BPA use, deciding if BPA should be restricted, or banned altogether. We as the public consumer, wait until a decision is made, one way or another. Scientific studies and lab tests experiments from around the world taken and compiled together, since the scientist discovered BPA could be harmful until the present time, compared collectively from all over then perhaps we can get a better understanding from the studies of the past as to what to do for the future generations. Nevertheless, there are no simple answers as to what should be used in place of BPA, and no other alternatives have been tested and deemed safe. There isn't much money being poured into learning and examining any other real options either. Consumers, environmental advocacy groups, and other health organizations have emphasized many potential health problems stemming from steady, low-level exposure to BPA over time.
