A(n) active and large debate throughout the U.S is the discussion of cell phones, technology, and how often it is used. People are wondering if there should there be limitations on how often we use our technology? No, there should not be. To put a limit on technology, is to put a limit on creativity and expression. A limit would damper the speed and amount of education ,we learn it would turn us blind to the world around us.

For example , we need social media to express ourselves. Social media sites allow young people to express themselves online. Therefore , “Saudi Arabia, where social media sites allow young people to express themselves and interact online- in contrast to the rigid religious and social codes that govern their everyday lives” (document 4). Although, the U.S is on social media about 2.75 hours a day, not only is this extremely close the global average, but Argentina , spends almost 4.5 hours a day (document 4). Furthermore, teens can use social media as an opportunity to break out of conformity and be who they are, and express their untempered opinions. …show more content…

“If we want to explore an idea we can always find the right pages or podcasts” (document 6). Where it is true that books are also helpful in this department, they are not always quite as time efficient. “The fact that we can ask a question and get an answer, wherever we are, means that are discussions can get past disputes over facts. . .” (document 6). In schools today we use computers and technology to get answers and information quicker so we can go over more topics and overall take in more knowledge. Not to mention, scrolling through social media , teens are always seeing things that they can relate to their personal or school
