Technology has improved over the past many years, and it is beginning to change the ways classes are structured. Schools have begun replacing their old tech, chalkboards and textbooks , with newer models, smart boards and ebooks. While this progress should continue, it should do so in moderation. The most important factors a school should consider before using a certain technology are the benefits in time efficiency, the amount of helpful resources available with the tech, and the overall well-being of students. Students, and children in general, are not the best at time management. This stems from a certain immaturity, the exists in all children, but also a lack of time. Students are encouraged to take high level classes with detrimental amounts of homework and then pile on extracurricular such as clubs and sports. When teachers put assignments online they can be shared and completed easily, at any time. Writing online is faster and more efficient when regarding essays and correcting grammar (source B). Communication between schools and families has been hastened by technological leaps (source B). The internet [provides an immense panoply of resources to help students with schoolwork. It gives children access to nearly anything imaginable, and with it they can improve themselves and in turn their assignments (source E). This access too should be monitored at school. It is easy to be overwhelmed by the grand scope of erudition to be gained from the internet. Information is just a click away, and can be shared in seconds, providing both students and teachers with access to anything necessary, so long as distraction doesn’t occur. This new and ever improving technology should still only be used to improve school
