Did you know that that from 1973-2013 that 56.5 million legal abortions were counted (Abortion Methods). In just 2013, 664,435 legal induced abortions were reported, and that is in just one year (Abortion information and Resources). On average, 2,899 legal abortions being completed every single day (Abortion Methods). Many people think that abortion should be legal, but with the given statistics and information, abortion is very harmful and an inhuman thing to do, so it should be abolished. First, Abortion promotes a culture where a human life is disposable. Abortions are classified into 3 classes: Surgical, Medical, and Chemical. The first class of abortion is Surgical Abortion; these procedures are done in a hospital or clinic, by a professional. They involve an invasive procedure that is meant to terminate a human’s life. Types of Surgical Abortions are Suction Aspiration, Dilation and Curettage, Dilation and Extraction, Dilation and Evacuation, and a Hysterotomy. The first type of Surgical Abortion is referred to as Suction Aspiration. This procedure is most often used in the first trimester. First, the abortionist inserts a Suction tube into the mother’s womb through the uterus; the cutting edge dismembers the baby from the uterus lining while the hose sucks all the body parts into the collection bottle. Another surgical abortion procedure is Dilation and Curettage; during this process, the abortionist uses a loop shaped knife and scrapes the uterine wall. This tears the baby into pieces. Dilation and Extraction is a procedure that is used well into the third trimester. The abortionist starts by grabbing the baby by the feet, they then pull the body out until the head is the only thing left inside, and then stabs forceps into the skull of the baby; now, that the baby is dead, the abortionist is able to pull the rest of the body out of the womb. Dilation and Evacuation is also used up to the 3rd trimester of pregnancy. This surgical procedure is another very cruel type of abortion in which the abortionist uses medical forceps to tear the baby into pieces.
