In the book, Kyle, the main character, gets chosen to stay overnight in a new library after sending in an essay as to why he should be picked. When he goes in, though h, not everything is as it seems. Even though his chances of getting picked where low, the hard part isn’t getting in, it’s getting out. Kyle Keeley is a gamer who gets stuck in the library, like everyone else. He is focused on helping everyone else escape, even if some welcome it more than others. Charles Chiltington is a smart two faced gentlemen. He is manipulative, and tricks many people in an attempt to escape. Haley Daley is a popular girl. She cares about herself only, and only helps the others escape if it helps her more. Mr. Lemoncello is a famous game designer. Since the town didn’t have a library, he funds it. He also adds a little extra to the library. Miguel Fernandez is a history fanatic. He is a nice person, and won’t try to set back anyone. Akimi Hughes is Kyle’s best fir end, and most trusted teammate. She is kind and caring, and also smart. Andrew Pecklman is gullible. It is both easy and hard to read, because while most of the words s someone in 7th grade can understand or confidently infer, the puzzles are hard, and you mostly rely on the characters in the story for their answer unless you are a really g good puzzle solver. The characters were well developed, and were interesting to see them interact with each other. The plot moved slowly at first, ad got faster and faster, but it was always just the right pace for the current situation. It was interesting, as there was always something to think about. I only got bored slightly in the first chapter, but that was because it was setting up everything. It got better and better after that. I recommend it to people who like mysteries. I would recommend it to these people because they will be used to the kind of slow start, and will appreciate it for all its
