Nowadays, society lacks the quality of being honest. Some people have trust issues, which lead them to think about themselves only. Others continuously make mistakes, but can never own up to them. Moreover, people would say one thing, but can never fulfill their promises. Integrity is about making a decision that is best for the majority, admitting faults, and fulfilling an obligation.
One quality of integrity is making an unselfish decision that will benefit yourself and anyone that’s dear to your heart. It’s about making a sacrifice, putting others needs before your own. Despite the consequences, one must always maintain his or her integrity. It will help you learn from your own mistakes and gain respect from others. Additionally, it will keep the problem from intensifying into an argument. For instance, the new soldier who just graduated from advanced individual training has been sent to her first duty station. Weeks afterwards her non-commissioned officer (NCO) failed to complete his task and was scared to admit it for fear he would get demoted or worse chaptered out from the army.
