We all enjoy a sugary drink every now and again,some more than others. Have you ever wondered how this affects your teeth. All major liquid drinks have some type of sugar in it,whether it is sugar or a sugar base. The project that was experimented with is the effect of sugary drinks on the teeth.
The Human Teeth are the most long lasting features of a human and all mammals in general. Humans are diphyodont,meaning that they develop two sets of teeth . Humans usually have 20 deciduous teeth,and 32 permanent adult teeth.
When drinking a lot of sugary drinks bacteria mixes and produce plaque.When you eat sugary foods or sip sugary drinks for long periods of time,plaque bacteria use that sugar to produce acids that attack your enamel.

Since, the enamel is translucent, you can see light through it. The main part of the tooth is dentin, it is responsible for the color of your tooth. To help with discoloration of the teeth or just surface stains, a routine cleaning from a dentist can help. The tooth enamel helps protect against chewing,biting,crunching,and grinding. The enamel also helps insulate the teeth against painful temperatures and chemicals. The enamel is different from other parts of your body once it is chipped or crack it will never grow back.
There are also environmental causes of Dental erosion. Abrasion is the physical wear and tear of the tooth surface that happens when brushing the tooth surface to hard. Abfraction comes from stress fractures, like when flexing or bending the tooth.
