Genocide has plagued this planet for far too long, and it must stop. The people involved in the genocide of Sudan, Africa, will not stop until they get what they want. The Sudanese Government caused the rebellion in their country by starving and abusing their people. Since the start of this war, the government has committed multiple war crimes. The people of Sudan have been suffering for over fifty years, and they need help. There are multiple causes and people associated with the genocide in Sudan, yet there is no outcome to this horrific tragedy.
There are multiple causes associated with the terrifying genocide in Sudan. The first Sudanese Civil War was fought between the southern and northern government in order to return Sudan to the separation that they had when they were under Britain’s control. This war was fought off and on until South Sudan was granted independence in July, 2011. Since South Sudan was liberated, several regions have started to rebel. These regions include Darfur, Blue Nile State, South Kordofan, and Abyei. Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir has been ordering soldiers to kill innocent civilians in several rebelling areas. To stop rebellion groups, the Sudanese Government has been hiring nomadic tribes, promising them land. These tribes formed militias that have killed 300,000 and displaced 4 million in a region known as Darfur. Darfur is one of the most disputed areas ever since South Sudan was granted independence in July of 2011. This aids in supporting the claim that when groups come together they can help those involved seeing that the I.C.C has come together to go against the injustices committed by Bashir, which would help stop the injustices to help the many people involved in these atrocities. Likewise from Polgreen´s text, “The I.C.C. prosecutor, Luis Moreno-Ocampo of Argentina, charges that Bashir has "masterminded and implemented" a plan to destroy the people of Darfur. "´Al-Bashir organized the destitution, insecurity, and harassment of the survivors," he contends. "He did not need bullets. He used other weapons: rapes, hunger, and fear.´" As exhibited, Luis Moreno-Ocampo from the I.C.C has stood up in order to stop the injustices that Bashir has committed against the people of Darfur.
