Power and authority This student’s preceptor and delegated administrative leaders without a doubt hold their positional power because of hard work and dedication to their goals. Highly educated and full of experiences. They shared without hesitation their wisdom that has been achieved through years of hard work. This student would say that her preceptor has constructed a bridge from formal authority to informal authority by building a reputation that is favorable among her subordinates (DelHousaye & Brewer 2004). She is this students CNE and has worked her way up to this position at this student’s facility even though she is only in her early 30s. Staff have told this student that they would put their lives on the line for her because she was the only person that has done the same for them. She is respected along with the Nurse Administrators. They have skills and talents that help the organization run smoothly. They know their strengths and their weakness and work as a team. The CNE has an open door policy, communicates well to all staff members. She is a great listener. One of the Nurse administrator sacrificed his time off and came to work on midnight shift and basically camped out in his office in order to be available for staff. Willing to learn new tasks that are responsibility of his subordinates in order to get the job done. Never complaining or wanting praise.
