What are some strategies you use to promote student engagement? She said she use group work, they learn best from one another it’s called, Think, Pair, and Share. Is organization a valuable skill for a teacher to possess? Why? Yes, because things you have to keep up with such as student data, parent conference, staff conference, school function and much more. You can function better when organized. What are some ways to rate student performances? Using formal assessments, star reading, math, bench mark and oral responses. What assessments will they be taking this year? They are doing four assessments one is call SLO’s it is a student learning objective and they take it twice a year, second one is Bench Mark the students do twice a year, third …show more content…

I use whole group, small group and individualize learning. What is your classroom management approach? PBIS, which is the three R’s Ready, Responsible, and Respectful. The classroom rule under Ready is number one follow adult directions and two is bring supplies to class. Under Responsible, number one is working quietly and complete all assignments and number two clean up after yourself. Under Respectful, number one is to be kind to others with your actions and words and number two show respect for school and personal property. I ask her how well do her paraprofessional and her work together, she said, they work well together. After she has done her whole group instruction, her paraprofessional would take a small group and work with them. I ask her do she have any challenges? She has worked as a para for two years. What are some development appropriate activities you do with the children? She does reading testing, she guides the students when the student checks out a library book on their level, and help them by asking the question that’s on the Star test and they pick the best answer from the list that they remember from their reading book. I help with group and individual activity like writing, painting and math. What are some instructional strategies you use? Demonstration is one strategy I use to help explain activities. If you see a student not understanding a subject what will you do? She will work more one on one with the student. What are some assessment techniques you do? She does reading tests, vocab tests and daily activities to where I file some of their work in their portfolio. Why is important to watch a student progress? It is important to see if the student is learning and if there are any weak areas we can work with the student or students more in that area. What are some strategies you use to engage the students? Daily she works with students in small group. What approach you like better direct or indirect? Direct because the teacher is in control of the whole lesson.
