Drinking Culture among Student-Athletes
In the last decade, a hot topic across the country on many college campuses is drinking among student-athletes. The public thinks that student-athletes should not be able to drink or go out and should just be focused on their sport. On the other hand, student-athletes feel they should be able to enjoy the college life and should be able to do what they want while participating in their sport. Many people are invested in this issues including student-athletes, parents, teachers, fans, and coaches. This issue has been a very serious one and is getting better yearly.

On the other hand, many student-athletes see their peers going out and drinking a lot because they do not receive any repercussions if they get caught or they do not have to go to practice within the next couple of days, so then the student-athletes wants to fit in and not feel left out which is why they go ahead and start drinking with their friends and it usually ends up getting out of control. This affects the student-athletes and those surrounding them. There are many ways to handle stress and relying on drinking any alcohol is not the best solution. “For male athletes specifically, alcohol may lead to a reduction in testosterone production.
