“Strategic management is an ongoing process that evaluates and controls the business and the industries in which the company is involved; assesses its competitors and sets goals and strategies to meet all existing and potential competitors; and then reassesses each strategy annually or quarterly [i.e. regularly] to determine how it has been implemented and whether it has succeeded or needs replacement by a new strategy to meet changed circumstances, new technology, new competitors, a new economic environment., or a new social, financial, or political environment” (Lamb, 1984: ix).

In 2008, Harvard Business Case Study for Apple Inc., describes a very popular Corporation which had 24 billion in revenue in 2007 and how the company has some concerns for many years. Company status was reviewed in-depth of the article that identified several strategic steps of the CEO in marketing, not just the computer industry, and consumer electronics industry. This issue will be discussed in this analysis paper of strategic management. The final section of this document will offer recommendations to some of the difficulties faced by Apple, Inc. in a process of making successful changes.

The first phase of strategic management for the Corporation is to evaluate its mission statement. The purpose of this mission statement is to define in simple terms the reason and purpose of its existence.
