There are many Global issues that go unnoticed or happen constantly in societies. One of which is discrimination. Discrimination is when a person or group of individuals of a certain culture, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation are denied access to something or opportunities. A lot of people discriminate because of the stereotypes that they grew up on. Stereotypes run in many cultures throughout the world and have been an ongoing issue for years. Each stereotype is based on differences that a person may see in someone else that they may not see in their selves, they can positive or negative.

All these examples are what people commonly judge on. People discriminate because of the fear of someone being different than them. Usually when a person fearful they turn to anger as a defense mechanism to help cope with their fear. Also, many people want to show that they are stronger or have more power than someone else. Since discrimination is such a big issue in our society, we need to bring awareness to the problem, so people can be aware of the harm they are causing others. If we bring awareness to the public and spread knowledge to the world on the differences others may fear, this may help relieve discrimination. That means people will have the knowledge they never knew about other people who are different than them. Since people would have knowledge instead of terrible stereotypes, they have nothing to fear. Many people know what prejudice and discrimination are, but some of us do not. Prejudice is known as the attitude which includes behavioral, cognitive and affective. This attitude is incorrect and is not justified because it usually deals with negative thoughts of a person. These thoughts can be based on any reasons, for example, it could be because of their social class, race, gender, sexuality, or anything else. Discriminitation on the other hand, is very similar, but involves taking action because of those thoughts. There have been many different types of discrimination, but the main one's are racial, age, and gender discrimination.
Stereotypes can be defined as sweeping generalizations about members of a certain race, religion, gender, nationality, or other group. They are made everyday in almost every society. We develop stereotypes when we are unable or unwilling to obtain all the information we would need to make fair judgments about people or situations. By stereotyping, we assume that a person or group has certain characteristics. Quite often, we develop these ideas about people who are members of groups with which we have not had firsthand contact. The concept of stereotypes is what we have been created in our presumptions of a person without even having an idea of how they are. It is a common thing in our society on which sometimes it can create tolerance or intolerance toward other groups because of different ideas or traditions. The film by Gregory Nava My Family and the book by Victor Martinez Parrot in the Oven: Mi Vida are clear examples of the concept of stereotypes. In the modern era, stereotypes seem to be the ways people justify and simplify the society. Actually, “[s]tereotypes are one way in which we ‘define’ the world in order to see it” (Heilbroner 373). People often prejudge people or objects with grouping them into the categories or styles they know, and then treat the types with their experiences or just follow what other people usually do, without truly understand what and why. Thus, all that caused miscommunication, argument or losing opportunities to broaden the life experience. Abstract- Racial discrimination happens all the time and most of us are unaware of it. The most common place for this to happen is in the workplace. Now people can be discriminated against because of their race, religion, or any other numerous things. Also, discrimination can occur during the job interview or even after you got the job. This paper will shoe the effects of racial discrimination and how it can be prevented. In addition there are some very important laws that deal specifically with discrimination, like the NAACP or Affirmative Action. These both will be discussed.

Prejudice and discrimination push people apart instead of bringing us together. Our religion, race, height, nationality, and even our gender are factors that most people make quick judgments about. Unfortunately, many of these judgments are based on biases and assumptions and it is among all of us. Every country, state, city discriminate among themselves even their own kinds.
