Recommended: The lorax movie analysis

For the Module 2 assignment, I watched The Lorax. The first main male character is Ted, who is played by Zac Efron. Another main male character is Mr. O’Hare, who is played by Rob Riggle. The main female character is Audrey, who is played by Taylor Swift. The article “Normalizing Male Dominance: Gender Representations in 2012 Films,” describes the gender roles in the superhero category as a man being the savior while the girl is the girlfriend or needs saving. Ted follows the social stereotype of the superhero category throughout the film as he is seeking to save the day, or rather the trees, for Audrey. He goes to any length to try to save the trees, even though he faces violence and threats from Mr. O’Hare. One particular point

He supports his claim by first explaining that how well people do on tests are determined on who administers the questions, then he explains that studies show that when people take tests and they are reminded of negative stereotypes that associate with them, then they don’t do as well, and finally he states that the studies are being widely ignored by all the people which should take heed of the findings, such as test makers and college acceptance people.
