In “Reading to Write,” Stephen King addresses the importance of reading to a writer. King states that writing can only be improved through reading. In others words, the relations between reading and writing are very close and it cannot be learned separately. King then promotes the idea that constant reading can improve writing ability, whether if it’s a fine literature or a poor literature.
With this, a reader can learn how to judge good writing because they have interacted and know what a good writing consists of. King manifests the idea of the more we read can equivalence to the knowledge we gain and we will be more encourages and eager to express them through writing.
