This made the essay hear an actual conversation what researched were talking and then it jumped to Owen and Sawhill respond. By using the formula “They say/I say” it helped the essay have a good flow where readers were able to see many different points of views on the issue. Owen and Sawhill use an element that was mention in the introduction of “They Say/ I Say”: The Moves That Matter in Academic Writing with Reading, “to write a really good summary you must be able to suspend your own beliefs for a time and put yourself in the shoes of someone else” (Graff et al. 31).
