St. Thomas More was a great person who could have helped world leaders make the world a better place for everyone. St. Thomas More was born on the 7th of February, 1478, and was beheaded on July 6, 1535. During St. Thomas More’s life, he was an English lawyer, humanist, and statesman, but after his time he was a Catholic martyr. He is the patron Saint of adopted children, lawyers, civil servants, politicians, and difficult marriages, and is celebrated on the 22nd of June. he was knighted by King Henry in 1521, and was canonized by Pope Pius XI in May 19th of 1935. (Baker-Smith) Throughout his life he has displayed traits that would help world leaders today. Three of his greatest traits that would help leaders today are bravery, influentialness, and the ability to be hard working. He most likely developed these traits at St. Anthony School, where he was educated. This attribute is shown throughout his whole life, this is because he has worked very hard to get to where he was at the end of his life. First during his time at school he studied law which is not the easiest subject, he needed to be smart for his line of work. Later in his life, St. Thomas More became the Lord’s Chanslor. (Baker-Smith) This was a fairly important job and to get there he needed to work very hard. St. Thomas More’s attribute of hard work could have helped our present world leaders because these world leaders have a tough line of work and they don’t normally get a break. Since this is the case, this attribute would be very helpful by taking off some of the stress the world leaders may have.
