Islam is a very large and influential religion, it all originated from one man named Muhammad spreading his beliefs to the people of Mecca, and now it has become the second largest religion in the world. How did this come to be? How did a religion that started with one man spread so quickly? methods , purposeful or not, were used. There are a few methods that appeared to be most effective, and those methods can be classified under two categories. Islam expanded from forceful ways such as government laws and military conquest, and from peaceful ways like the religion being a reasonable jump for other religions and Islam being an easily acceptable religion. People tend to go through with things that do not change their lifestyle too much, as opposed to something that would completely change the way one lives their life. As seen in document B, the Qur’an states that “Those who submit to God and accept the true Faith; who are devout, sincere, patient, humble charitable and chaste; who fast and are ever mindful of God - on these,both men and women, God will bestow forgiveness and rich recompose.” Nothing in this verse suggests that one should completely alter their lifestyle, it just states that you should be a good person and you will in return be rewarded, which is another reason the religion is so acceptable, because it offers reward to those who follow through with simple tasks. Humans tend to undertake things that offer some form of reward, the fact that this religion awards this, gave people a larger reason to adopt this religion.
