Cleopatra VII, one of the most renowned female ruler in history to be last the last one of her family line of Pharaohs. The myths and stories that surrounded her life have made her the subject of books, movies, and plays. Cleopatra VII has been fascinated people throughout the years, but has been misunderstood by all of them.
The last Macedonian Greek queen, Cleopatra VII. Born 69 B.C., in the beginning of the King Ptolemy XII reigning years as a king in Egypt. “She was one of the most dynamic figures in the world. And yes, I do not think this is an exaggeration.” (Pomeroy, S. B, 1990, p 24) Her knowledge and parents kept her tradition steeped in Greek culture. Cleopatra marrying her eldest brother who was as of ten years old to be co-ruler to her dynasty and to keep it alive, but it would be the help of Julius Caesar that made it happen. The will save Cleopatra to retain her power and to start the love affair to all we know about. She had a son with him name Caesarian, although Caesar did not mention it was his child. Ptolemy XIII, thereafter died in a failed rebellion and was replaced as co-ruler with his and Cleopatra's younger brother Ptolemy XIV. When all things are all well in the eyes that seem to doom Cleopatra puts herself in seat of death of a cobra granted that this was a myth or not. Plutarch says that those who believed in the asp theory that the snake was smuggled in to her bowl of figs. (Baldwin, 1964, p 182: 2) And still no one knows if it was Cleopatra killed Antony for her own free will. It was the power that struck her and her own risk to not anyone have her Antony right beside her. This goes to that this fascinated to us about Cleopatra show us in ways as a woman she did her best to reign and what she expected for the last Pharaoh to do what's right mind of her

"Asp" is an imprecise term, which referred to many various African vipers, all of which would have left her corpse looking less than beautiful. The death that Cleopatra is described to have experienced resembles the death caused by a cobra sting, not an asp bite. A cobra would have had to be at least four feet long to excrete enough venom to kill Cleopatra and her two maids (Hughes-Hallet 107). Since writers have taken liberties with their descriptions of Cleopatra's death scene, representing the asp in various ways, we should ask, "What does the snake symbolize in Cleopatra's suicide, and how does this representation affect the overall portrayal of the Queen and her suicide?"
