1. My reaction to the title The Son of Neptune was I instantly thought of Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon. The blurb reminded me of the book, The Lost Hero as both the protagonist lost their memory and had to save the world. The cover intrigued me because it was Percy Jackson, but he was holding a mysterious golden eagle.
2. I had mixed feelings while reading this book. I felt happy when Percy, Hazel and Frank overcame another obstacle. I felt doomed when it seemed like the heroes were helpless, but instantly feel relieved when they thought of a plan to conquer the challenge.
3. I like Hazel because she has a dark story behind her. She is supposed to be dead, killed while she attempted to save her mother from Gaea. Hazel has a curse in which …show more content…

I would not change the ending. The ending was perfect in my opinion. Percy defeated Polybotes, the giant, and got elected Praetor. He rested after the battle, Juno appeared in his dream and told him that Jason Grace had earned his trust with the Greeks and they shall bring together the two camps. Percy explained to Reyna, just as he finished, the Argo II prepared to enter Camp Jupiter. “Let me introduce you to my other family.” This line lets us know that Annabeth is on the Argo II along with Jason, Leo and Piper. When the book ended, ideas still surged through my head with curiosity as to what will happen in the next book, The Mark of Athena.
9. I found it confusing when they said the prophecy of seven was found thousands of years ago yet it was only used in this century. I wonder if Octavian will work with Gaea and betray Camp Jupiter.
10. “Octavian shot him a dirty look, then turned to the crowd and smiled like this was all his idea.” My reaction to this quote was a big grin. I was happy to hear this line because this means Octavian cannot become praetor anymore as there can only be two praetors. The camp will be safe from Octavian for now.
11. I fear that Percy will face many more challenging obstacles that demand sacrifice. I fear that Percy will sacrifice himself for Annabeth as she is everything to him. Annabeth also has a terrifying mission to retrieve the Athena Parthenos by
