Since it emerged in 1993, this particular franchise has made over $6 billion in profits. This financial success has gained the association the title of the biggest-selling franchise in the history of EA.

Number Twelve: The Original Name

Before this franchise gained the name that we have come to know and love today, the line of games was initially to be titled “EA Soccer”. In an effort to generate further success on a global scale, the games were renamed to “FIFA International Soccer”.

The roots of this highly-successful game are based primarily from the creators’ inspiration from the 1994 World Cup. This tournament was held in the United States, and the game featured the three teams who qualified for the cup in real life: Bolivia, Saudi Arabia, and South Korea.
