Soccer Autobiography

I was born and raised in Lincoln, CA. This didn't mean much to me then, but I enjoyed school and had those temporary friends we make growing up and experimenting. I like to think my journey of discovering myself began with my first year of soccer. My mom used to play as a little girl and I had extraordinarily long legs, just like her. I was fast, very fast and I loved to prove it too. My energy had to be put to good use. She signed me up for a mixed boys and girls recreational team and it was all fun and games. There was no focusing, practices were like playdates for me. I loved to mess around with my teammates, little did I realize how natural I was with the ball at my feet. We traveled all over california placing in every tournament. She forced us to come out of our comfort zones and taught me everything about types of people. Our team's chemistry was unmatchable and she made sure of it, no one was left out or kept silent we were truly 19 sisters sharing our love of soccer. I thought I was good when I started out but she picked up on every flaw and helped me perfect my game. One on one she would work me physically and mentally. Everything was earned, it wasn't fair like rec anymore you had to better yourself and prove your position. She saw a player in me that I never did and kept pushing me. At times it felt harsh and she was straight up like that but I came to realize how genuine she was. There was times when she would bench me and go days without talking to me, It would frustrate me to my breaking point. Eventually I would confront her about it and that was exactly what she was waiting for. She taught me to address my problems and speak my mind, I learned how to work with people and she prepared me for the hard life ahead. I think back on her lessons almost everyday, She forced me to realize my worth and i'm so glad I was blessed with our
