Approximately 6 million Jews were killed in the holocaust People often use words to hurt, manipulate, and bully others. Markus Zusak uses the book thief to portray how Hitler uses the power of words to commit genocide. In the book thief Zusak's use of similes, metaphors ,and allusions show how words and propaganda can be used to manipulate and hurt people.
On hitler's birthday in the 1940’s during a visit Hans jr a member of the Nazi party says to Hans and his father “ what trash is this girl reading ? She should be reading Mein Kampf’’( zusak ). Mein Kampf my struggles is an autobiographical composition written by Hitler. There are two kinds of propaganda white propaganda aims to reassure their own side and black propaganda aims to demoralize their enemy. Hitler used black propaganda in is hate speech to turn the audience against max.
