SILVER Silver is an important elements in the Periodic table. Every element in the periodic table has a special symbol, and silvers special symbol is Ag. Silvers chemical symbol Ag is an abbreviation of the Latin word for silver. The Latin word comes from arguments a Sanskrit word that means shiny. Silver has been used since prehistoric times and it has and still plays an important role today. We do not know which person discovered it, but what we do know is that the Ancients discovered it.
