The “Silence of the Lambs” directed by Jonathan Demme based on the story by Ted Tally, is a psychological thriller film that involve the main character(s) Clarice Starling, Dr. Hannibal Lecter, and Jamie Gumb. Most of story in the film take place around Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1989-90s. In the film, Jodie Foster played the female protagonist Clarice Starling, a F.B.I agent who worked in the behavioral science unit; which was assigned to confide and interrogate an incarcerated killer to receive insight into a case that would be helpful on catching another vicious serial killer. In addition, this particular shot is also a walk and talk were the two police officers are talking to each other about the insistence of the meal. The camera continues tracking the two police officers until they placed the food tray in the floor. Its noticeable because the shot was taken inside of the metal bars cell using a high angle shot looking down and out of the metal bars to the food tray, hands and feet of the two police officers. By the same token, the camera slowly tilts up making a close up to the police stick and silver keys positioned on the right side of the screen. This conveys to us that the person we are about to see is dangerous and must be isolated form the rest of humanity. Thus, the used of light in the shot was a key light, only focusing in the stick and the silver keys of the two police officers making a hard dark in the back of the objects. This give us the sense that the person we about to see in the next shot is a macabre. In the same sequence of shot the next shot was a close-up of a white man face who appears to be about forty-five years old. The man is centered on the screen and in his mouth we can see a small piece of metal that can be used to kill or scape. Then the camera zoon in, from the outside of the incarceration bars to see the white man standing, indicating that the man realized the coming of the two police officers. In this specific shot we can notice that the man is a prisoner because the white shirt and white pants he is wearing, but most importantly the shirt has numbers like this B5160-8, representing the inmate’s ID identification. Equally important, the soft classical music was kept repeating itself. Then the camera moves behind the man who is in captivity making an extreme-close-up to the left hand of the white man, where we can notice the piece of metal bent into a lock pick, which the man conceals between two of his fingers. Again, the shot continues with an extreme close-up when the two police officers instructed the man to sit with his back against the bars and we clearly saw one of the police handcuffing the man arms behind the bars; not only that, but also the man using the small lock pick to escape. The camera pan right and tilt up at the police entering to the metal cage. The camera tracks forward the tray of food the police is carrying and tilts down as the police officer places the tray on the floor a few feet from the white man to clear the table.
