Everyone has their own individual traits that make them who they are. According to King, personality is “a pattern of enduring, distinctive thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that characterize the way an individual adapts to the world” (2016, pg. 375). I, myself am a firm believer of horoscopes and zodiac signs and being that I am a Pisces, would be described as a very creative person who is in touch with their emotions, even known to wear them on my sleeve at times. I definitely agree with that. I have always been imaginative and ever since I was a little kid, have had all these great ideas. My father used to say I would think about the world much differently than other people and would question things he has never thought about. I am also …show more content…

I really agree with Sigmund Freud’s theory on psychosexual stages of personality development. I think the phallic stage may have had a big impact on me because a sublimation effect on the stage can result in a love for poetry, acting, and a strive for success which are three things that are very important to me; however, I do not really have a modest view point on sex. (King, 2016). I have been doing stage performances since I was a freshman in high school from musical theatre, to being on the forensics team and always strived to succeed in it all. The same goes for career and life in general. I have always set goals for myself and do not stop until I reach it, which is why I love Alfred Adler’s theory in individual psychology. “In individual psychology, people are motived by purposes and goals-thus perfection, not pleasure is their key motivator” (King 2016, pg. 381). This could not describe me more. My father is the same way and taught me to set goals for myself to achieve happiness. I also have become so goal oriented because my brother has been struggling with severe OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) for about 4 years now, and I guess I feel like I am obligated to be successful seeing the way my parents act about my brother’s …show more content…

It stated that, “ENFJ’s have tremendous power to manipulate others with their phenomenal interpersonal skills and unique salesmanship” (Jung Typology Test, 2016). That is something I have neither thought about myself before although I feel is true. As I stated before, communication with people is something that comes with ease to me, so I very well could manipulate someone to believe that I am helping them. The second test I took scored me on egotism vs. altruism. It gave me a fairly high rating and said I would go out of my way to help someone without being asked (Egotism/Altruism 2016). Again, this is something I agree with. Although I have some selfish qualities, I will always make sure others are helped before me. Finally, the third test which was a zodiac sign test I do not agree with completely. It scored me as a Sagittarius, and they are known to be blunt and speak their mind. This is something I would never do. However, the test did say these signs are also very optimistic, highly sociable and extroverts (Zodiac Signs 2016). These traits describe me to a
