MARS.
A lot of people speculate if we should go to Mars or not. We should colonize Mars because Earth is dying and we need expand our galactic superiority. Earth is dying from many different reasons but one global warming however Mars on the other hand is very cold. Plus if you don't want to go, you don't have to.
First of all, the Earth is dying out due to global warming. One way to prove that is in the coral reefs. According to ABC news, 90% of the coral reef has been destroyed in the past two years. “Weitrering,2017” Also tons of cute little animals are dying out. If all the animals die out, a lot of people would be affected, like in not fully developed people use them as currency or transportation, or on farms and such, animals are a big part of the work force. The Earth is getting hotter each year by different amounts. If the world keeps getting hotter, doing work will get more difficult and we would get exhausted quicker, and if the earth keeps heating up we could die from it, but on mars its very cold so we would have to wear space suit type things to keep us warm.

The next habitual planet closest to earth is Alpha Centauri C which is 4.25 light years away. “aa Cen, 2017” We can also get to mars faster and safer if we build and launch space-planes from the moon. If we build and launch from the moon we would be closer to mars which means we need less fuel, and that means less weight, which is good. Mars is the closets planet like Earth in our solar system. The next closest planet like earth that we know about are the 7 planets in the TRAPPIST-1 system which is 39 light years away (229 trillion miles or 369 trillion kilometers). “aa Cen,
Why We Should go to Mars “It was obvious to me that we could never colonize Mars without reusability, any more than America would have been colonized if they had to burn the ships after every trip,”(Dave, 2017). This is what Elon Musk said in an interview in Fortune Magazine on December 9th 2013. The fourth planet in our solar system, Mars, is the closest “Earth-like” planet, Which is why SpaceX, NASA, and many other organizations are trying to make a human trip to Mars possible, as well as learning many things about Mars and Earth at the same time. Mars has a lot of potential to be a habitable planet to continue the human race.
For years, the environment has getting destroyed resulting in the melted Arctic ice caps due to global warming because of the pollution that goes into the atmosphere. It won’t stop there; if waste continues to accumulation at this rate, the earth will become a desert or covered by seawater. The world is a very delicate ecosystem and pollution is taking a toll on
Glaciers conserve climate records just as tree trunks preserve historical climate levels from hundreds of years ago. Researchers are able to pull out the core of glaciers in order to examine the ancient bubbles. These ancient bubbles contain levels of carbon dioxide content and past air that is from our ancestors. What they found was atmosphere dioxide never being higher than 280 parts per million. Now, atmosphere dioxide has raised to 390 parts per million within a matter of a couple of years. This change has already been affecting us. James Balog states that air is changing and basic physics of air is changing. This particular change has a great influence in: plants, animals, food, water sources, weather, and mankind. All species are endangered at this moment. All species are going into a mass extinction due to hot weather and climate change. James Balog states that we will lose half or three quarters within the next 20 years. The plants at risk will cause our air to be unfiltered. These plants are what keep our water and air clean. There is also high mortality in forest areas with larger forest fires that are almost impossible to control. More extreme fires are burning which is the cause of extreme changes in the environment. Our environment is more extreme since the greenhouse gases are raising at deadly
...egular people, believing that if someone was to go to Mars they might have been able to survive A variety of organic compounds present may mean a life is probable. Also, if the trip to Mars in 2023 turns out to be a positive one, then it will prove to everyone that in the future more and more people will move to this other planet. A lot of people will find it unnecessary to stay on Earth if they can start a new life somewhere else in the galaxy. Even though the trip will have America paying billions and billions of dollars, it truly is worth it. A life on Mars could mean living to an older age and being healthier. The point of going to the Red Planet is to find out if there is a better life somewhere other than on Earth. Just like NASA astronaut, Buzz Aldrin said, humans will most likely reach Mars and when they do humans will turn into a two-planet species.
Mars is our next best hope in life on another planet. Because of science mankind can grow and harvest plants in the modified mars soil, make a thick warm atmosphere, and drink no frozen mars water. Mankind can grow and flourish more as a species with this idea of colonizing mars. With more scientific advancements we can colonize mars and we will colonize mars.
In scientific terms, Earth is considered many things; it harbours life, it’s the third planet away from the sun, it’s mostly made up of water, however amongst all it is home. Like any valued possession people must treat the Earth with the care and respect the planet deserves with cleanliness and preservation. Unfortunately due to the disbelief of cleanliness and lack of care, Earth is experiencing issues that happen when it’s nature isn’t preserved including climate changes and global warming. Climate change and global warming is not a myth and not enough is being done to preserve the Earth’s natural resources.
The increase in ocean temperatures are causing the reef to die out; reefs structures don’t have the ability to keep up pace with the ever so changing climate 4. Rigel suggests that coral reefs will eventually die out from the erosion of the warm ocean4. The increase in climate change is leading to ocean acidification. Much of the gases that enter our air from pollution also dissolves into the ocean. With this occurring, corals cannot absorb the calcium they need to maintain their skeletons. The stony skeletons that support coral reefs will dissolve. If nothing is done to stop so much carbon dioxide from going into the atmosphere, this will increase and more and more coral reefs will be destroyed and die
According to research, the Arctic Sea is most likely to be fully melted by 2050. This is because of carbon dioxide, also known as CO2. Carbon is the cause of global warming. The average American carbon footprint shrinks 32 square feet of ice each year, and that’s just one American. Multiply that by 325 million, and that’s a lot of ice melting! Sea levels have been rising at an alarming rate, parts of Florida are building drains that cost millions to keep it from sinking, and when high tide comes in, the streets are completely flooded. They have to raise many bridges so that cars can pass by during the floods.
The thought of going to Mars may scare some people, or just make no sense to others, but it truly is one of the best things that we could do as the human race. In 1492, Christopher Columbus set out on an expedition in hope of discovering a water route from Europe to Asia by crossing the Atlantic Ocean, but instead he ended up finding America. If Columbus had not been searching for a connecting pathway from Europe to Asia, America may never have been found. If we do not seize the opportunity to colonize Mars before our earth is not functional anymore, then humankind may perish. We, as the human race, need go to Mars because the survival our of species is uncertain, we might discover life or new natural resources, and it would be a stepping stone for the exploration of the universe.
Even the animals remaining risk extinction from the slightest change in the environment, as evidenced by a quote from one of Adam One’s speeches; “we rejoice that they were spared, unless a change in ocean temperature and salinity caused by the great downpour of fresh waters did harm to some Species unknown to us.” (125) While extinction of this level may not have happened yet in our world, it is not a stretch to say that we are certainly on our way there. Time and time again people have warned that we as humans need to take serious efforts to stop the spread of global warming and respect the environment, or face dire consequences. Rachel Carson ’s essay Silent Spring paints a picture of a world that has been ruined due to our heavy
Across Australia, animals are becoming extinct, seas are warming, and events such as bushfires, storms, and droughts are becoming more dangerous and frequent. People around the world are burning fossil fuels and allowing greenhouse gases to escape into the atmosphere. These gases trap heat, causing the world to become warmer (“Learn”). This is part of a larger problem called climate change. Climate change is affecting people, animals, oceans, and environments all around the world.
Although going to Mars is the goal, the moon should be the first place to colonize and by doing so, creates a blue print to the colonization
Even if the reason of climate change may be the natural cycles, we humans are the major determinant to it. The huge amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is causing the climate change and this amount is rising day by day, as a result of our actions. Greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide, generally absorb and emit the heat in the atmosphere to keep the Earth’s climate habitable. However, as we continue to burn fossil fuels, this habitable Earth’s temperature will blow up, and as a result, some species will die out due to various problems which are caused by climate change. According to EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), the most obvious consequence of climate change is the rising sea levels, which will cause some seashore habitats to become unavailable to live to its species.
Our planet has managed to survive and thrive for about 4.54 billion years. In the last 2 million years we have caused enough damage and destruction to make our world “broken” beyond repair. We will not be able to get back the world we once had. The reason behind this is global warming, specifically, the increase of the global temperature due to the burning of fossil fuels and the release of greenhouse gas emissions into our atmosphere. If we do not make the issue of global warming a priority in today`s society, our entire way of life will be at risk. There are many reasons why so many people believe global warming should be a concern. Thoroughly examined points include: scientific predictions, rising temperatures, human causes, drastic climate changes and animal adaptations. Though there are several points arguing how global warming should not be a concern, the reality of the matter is that it needs to be taken into consideration on a global scale before it is too late, as to do nothing would have devastating implications on humankind.
The planet Earth has seen a 1.4°F increase in global temperature since the 19th century; carbon dioxide concentration has increased by 40% since 1880, the highest in 800,000 years; sea ice in the Arctic is shrinking; sea levels have increased by eight inches thus far; and the ocean’s acidity is increasing. Global climate change is all too real. Global climate change is not a myth.
