Its believable 100% that the scientific worldview dominates our contemporary consciousness. And thus do kids really need to go to school to learn by textbooks?. For most ancient people it is blindingly obvious that textbooks is the only place where teaching relies upon. And for them it goes without saying that real learning only takes place where there is teaching with the aid of textbooks. Kids need notebook computers for real learning to take place, and they need them for six or eight hours a day, five days a week and at least eleven months a year. In fact, they need them in there entire life or if not they end up sinking in a sea of ignorance.

There are various reasons why textbooks should be replaced by today’s latest technology. Hence, it's high time for the whole world to embrace the 21st century of technology, by saying goodbye to the frustrating conditions of Student textbooks which must be replaced by notebook computers because of the following views.
One of the reasons is that textbooks lead to back pains and shoulder problems. “Kids who wear their backpacks full of textbooks over their shoulders, as many do, since it looks better or just feels easier- may end up leaning to one side to offset the extra weight. They might develop lower and upper back pain and strain their shoulders and neck”. “Doctors say they are observing a growing number of children suffering serious back pain as the result of carrying around overloaded backpacks because children’s spines are still growing. Thus, the heavy packs and tilted gait they carry could result into long term back problems” “According to data from the United States Product Safety Commission, over the period from 1994-2000 more than 23,000 youths ages 6 to 18 were treated for backpack related injuries, such as contusions, sprains, and strains to the back and shoulders, and fractures” (Procon.org). Children are suffering as a result of heavy back packs full of textbooks and many believe that this is a problem that can be totally changed by the introduction of net book computers to replace the text
In addition, textbooks are heavy to carry around and it takes longer to find a page. Likewise with digital textbooks they are compatible with tablets, smartphones, and laptops; it’s much easier to carry around and affordable price. However, some people may argue that digital textbooks can be a distraction for people because they would not bother read anymore. The author and poet Dana Gioia argues that electronics alternatives may be a bad influence that will lead society to not read anymore. Gioia complicates matters further when she writes, “While no single activity is responsible for the decline in reading, the cumulative presence and availability of electronic alternatives increasingly have drawn Americans away from reading” (161). I think Gioia is mistaken because she overlooks on electronics being a bad influence; but doesn’t see the benefits of electronics. To demonstrate, most of my textbooks are digital, which I can easily carry my tablet around where ever I go. Also, I save more money on digital textbooks and are simple to annotated the text. Journalist Ellen Lee interview a student from Liberty University, and he states that he prefers digital textbooks because he can tap his iPad, opens the digital copy and quickly open the page. I’d rather have paper to write down and make my own citations and marks depending on the subject, but if I’m reading a novel, then using a tablet is great, and I’m able to carry as many books as I need. It’s amazing how technology has shaped our educational system over the years and especially in the last 10 years. Honestly, it was only a matter of time before we arrived at this crossroad. It still remains to be seen how this path will be navigated and implemented fully, but I’m excited to be on the journey.

There is a terrible problem going on within our growing society of intellectuals, the abusers of books, or cool kids . People who fold the pages, tear them out, or those who fold back the books, breaking the binding, its precious spine, for more 'comfortable' reading. Even those who claim that books are dumb, too long, or a waste of time, it simply makes that person look uneducated and seem way to obnoxious.
Through connection and communication, work ethic has improved in schools especially when a student’s score means a lot to school funding. The old ways of using textbooks can cause back pain when carrying it around everywhere and kill trees when making them. With new editions of a textbook being published it creates more worry for schools since it can cost a fortune to buy each book for classrooms to stay updated to the newest information.
Years ago, the foremost technology was simple and only somewhat effective, namely verbal communication (talking or writing). However, nowadays, we have modern methods of teaching; for example, typing and keeping files online. One educational resource that has changed is the textbook. For instance, in the article, “Top 12 Ways Technology Changed Learning” by Dr. Katherine McKnight, it states, “Today’s textbooks often have web-based sites that include assessments, animations, additional materials, videos, and other materials to support the learning of new content.” This proves technology that enables enriching learning resources has permanently altered how this generation is taught.
In the readings of Everything’s an Argument, Per the text, “ …eliminating physical books from college campuses would be a positive step for our 21st century students...” (14). I must disagree with the idea that all eliminating paper course materials would be a step forward for future students. Personally, I like having paper books and other course materials because I enjoy the break from electronics. When a person reads on electronics consistently, it can damage their eyes or cause other health for the students.
Tablets are becoming more and more popular and they are replacing books in schools, and should schools be doing this? Tablets are great and all but they cause so much of a distraction and they come with problems in the near future, textbooks are far more superior and get their point across to the reader, while textbooks have been around for centuries. Basically the people want to get rid of textbooks and embrace the opportunity of tablets for the replacement of textbooks. Tablets are said to hold more information than a outdated textbooks and can be constantly updated at the users will or even automatically. On the other hand textbooks should be kept because of their longevity of being in the teaching system. Also textbooks do not come with all the problems that arise with the tablets and the excuses of the students not doing their homework. Textbooks have been around from the beginning of the books. Laptops should replace textbooks because they're more Eco friendly, cost less in the long run and are easier for students to carry.
All institutions whether attending a university, community, or even a technical college, requires the student to purchase a textbook in order to be successful in the class. Some textbooks aren’t even open all semester and the information and statistics can be out of date and can greatly affect your overall knowledge on certain topics. In addition, cost free text books can enhance the quality of education by the teachers and serve more accessibility to working students. Although councils and administrations can’t approve cost free text books, policies such as, Open Textbook, bookstore rentals, and affordable textbook act should be offered nationwide. As an experienced freshmen surviving the first year of college, textbooks should be purchased free of cost provided by institutions throughout the country.
Along with these problems, some professors demand a specific edition of textbooks, which would cost hundreds of dollars more than the older version, and the only difference students can find is the physical appearance of the books. The California Student Public Interest Research Group published a study in 2004 that found new editions cost 58 percent more than older editions and newer editions are not that different from previous editions (PresslerE01). Therefore, expenses on text books must be reduced as it has a direct effect on students’ performance. In addition, it can be accessible anywhere at any time, so, students shouldn’t carry heavy textbooks all the time.
However, iIn spite of the current pre-eminence of e-books, it may be argued that they are not likely to replace print books anytime soon or possibly at all. Both formats have their advantages and drawbacks, which makes for one of them difficult to replace the other. Moreover, they serve differents needs and purposes. E-books are famous for their portability. Hundreds of e-books can be stored on a single device. Thus e-books don’t take shelving space and are convenient to take on travel, while even a few paper books are bulky and quite heavy to carry around. Numerous e-books are in open access, while paper books are not routinely available free of charge. E-books may be acquired and accessed immediately online, a feature I enjoy especially and treasure most: many a time I was able to buy and read an e-book at home within minutes of learning of its existence. Needless to say, e-books are considerably easier to cite and quote than print books, since the copy-paste feature spares us the trouble of retyping the quoted text. The development of technology in this country has been significant to the daily lives of Americans today. In the twenty-first century, one of the greatest accomplishments of technology is the use of laptops. People, such as students, are facing the fact that laptops have made their lives easier. Some colleges and universities have allowed that each student bring their personal laptops with internet connectivity to class while others believe they easily weaken the learning abilities of students instead of promoting and increasing learning in the classroom. Although personal laptops in the classroom have numerous advantages, there have also been frequent complaints from professors because laptops hinder with learning, and as a result should be banned from bringing them into the classroom since laptops can easily distract students, not every student can afford purchasing a laptop, and would prevent students from cheating or plagiarizing.
As more people began to access the Internet through smart phones and tablets rather than laptops and computers, it is not a surprise that they would also want to transform the American education system by bringing tablets into classrooms. In fact, a few schools around the country have already replaced textbooks with tablets and have seen improvements in students’ standardized test scores. Using tablets instead of textbooks is not only convenient and helpful, but it can also reduce the amount of paper wastes in school. However, it is not a good idea to completely transform textbooks with tablets with the current technology, for it can not only be damaging to the environment and costly to set up, but also might not be effective in improving K-12 education in the long run.
Getting educated is one of the most important things in life when it comes to getting a good future. By developing good knowledge of schooling, it helps establish and maintain new information as needed throughout the real world. As books are one the essential tools in learning, eBooks are being used in a everyday lifestyle. Traveling to get away places from city life, helps give reading a comforting feel. Students that use print books are eventually going to use ebooks in the future.
