Introduction: Crying is the way for children to express their needs or when they feel boring or even when they feel hungry, pain, lonely, scared or when they want to sleep. The way to solve this problem is different between mothers to another. Some of parents take a wrong way. They are shaking baby strongly. This way is very harmful for children. It effects children especially infants. That condition developed to become a syndrome and it’s known as shaking baby syndrome. Its means of inflicted traumatic brain injury that happens when a baby is violently shaken. The first doctor who discovered that is Johen Caffe in 1946. Statistics show that infants who died because of SBS increase from 15% to 38%. And up of half deaths related to child abuse are reportedly due to shaken baby syndrome. Specialist does many tests as following: • Computerized tomography (CT) scans. Uses X-ray images to provide cross-sectional images of a child's brain. This test helps to detect injuries that need urgent intervention. • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). MRI uses a powerful magnetic field and radio waves to create detailed images of a child's brain. Because MRI is difficult to perform on a child who's unstable, it's usually done two to three days after the injury. • Skeletal survey. A series of skeletal X-rays. It includes the arms, hands, legs, feet, spine, ribs and skull and find the previous fractures. • Ophthalmological exam. Examining the eye can reveal bleeding and other eye injuries. • Blood tests. It helps if there is bleeding and clotting disorders Depending on the injuries, the baby may need to be monitored in a paediatric intensive care unit.
