Recommended: Legalisation of gay marriage in australia

This year as it has seemed for the whole of my life the issue marriage, in a non traditional since has flared up again, and once again my mind cries as no-one speaks reason.

It is my opinion that "marriage is the contract between a man and a woman to the exclusion of all others" as in the marriage act, its an ancient religious tradition and shouldn't be changes, but this is where i break from the standard conservative view is questioning why an off the shelf contract with such religious connotations should be provided by the government.

There are over a million households in Australia and to think that they can all be identified by one contract is ludicrous from my perspective.
