Throughout the novel “To Kill A Mockingbird”, one of the main characters are Scout. As a child, she does not understand the full implication of things that are occuring around her. That makes her an objective observer as well as a reporter in the truest sense. Scout is a little girl that is experiencing the story told by Jean Louise. In the novel, scout faces many issues. One of those issues are her being a tomboy. She is always criticized for her acting like a girl due to her being a tomboy. She has been told many times to just walk around in someone’s skin before you can judge them. In her mind, she is always thinking that in the city, people are always together and this means that they really do not hate each other. However, this is wrong because the only reason they are together is due to them not having anything else to do. The amount of innocence others have for each other is really affecting Scout because she is being influenced. In the book, Scout witnessed Tom Robinson become a victim of racial injustice when he was accused of assaulting and raping Mayella. This incident affects Scout a lot and leads to her thinking of many things of how she loses her innocence because this lets her know that people are not always there for you and you do not know what they are going to do and where they are going to end …show more content…

In the beginning of the story, she is viewd as a very nice an innocent child that is not aware of the negative actions that are taking place around her and in the world. In the novel, the scene of the church takes place when Tom Robinson’s wife is not able to find work due to her being accused of rape which was false. Scout begins to wonder and she is immediately hooked to what had happened to Tom’s wife. Scout is not aware of what rape is which then leads her to ask her father. After this, Scout begins to realize that people who are biased with each other are not biased against each other but also others as well. This shows Scout how she is unaware of real life conflicts and what the society has come to. In her early years, life was very robust for her, but as she gets older, she begins to come aware of real life
