The Sandy Hook Lighthouse was first thought of in 1961 when New York merchandise made an petition to the Colonial assembly for a lighthouse to be built so the ships can see where they were going and prevents anymore shipwrecks. The Assembly agreed to this and then came up with an act to raise three thousand pounds by the lottery for the lighthouse to be built. New york citizens approve for a small land to be bough and after Compromises with Robert Hartshorne, the owner of Sandy Hook, resulted in the purchase, on May 16, 1762 for 750 pounds. By June 11, 1764 then lighthouse lighted for the first time. One of the earliest settlements, Gloucester, Massachusetts, is famous for being America's oldest seaport and the cradle of the country's fishing industry. It was in 1606 when the French explorer, Samuel de Champlain sailed into what is now Gloucester Harbor and loved the beauty of the land, and of course, the many fish that laid in the water. Later, English Captain John Smith, following Champlain's earlier voyages, reached Gloucester. When he arrived here he also fell in love with the land but most of all the cod. Early History In the early history of Ellis Island, much of the upper New York Bay, which consisted of oyster banks, which was the main source of food for the Lenape people. There were a few islands that were not submerged in the high tide which were later known as Liberty Island, Black Tom Island and Ellis Island, all three were called the Oyster Islands by the original settlers of New Netherland. The oyster beds on the islands lasted for almost 3 centuries, but nevertheless the railyard company Lehigh Valley Railroad and The Central Railroad of New Jersey destroyed the oyster beds. In the 1770s Samuel Ellis became the private owner of Ellis Island, but not too much later in 1794, the state of New York leased Ellis Island, during the time 1794-1890, there was not much going on in Ellis Island, but it still played a role in the United States military as a federal arsenal and other military stations.

As Americans, we all have civil rights. After the attack on Pearl Harbor during World War II, these rights were taken away from the Japanese Americans. They were forced to leave their daily lives (job, house, and friends). These Japanese Americans on the mainland were put into concentration camps and left there for 4 years. During World War II, The Japanese-Americans were withheld from their rights and were forced to leave their homes and relocate to internment camps. During this time, America did not uphold their responsibilities, as the Japanese-Americans were not treated equally.
Bravery has a history that can be traced back to the first trace of humanity. Indeed, society depends on leaders that are brave.The word bravery itself lives within our everyday lives. There are times when we need leaders, courageous ones. At school, we need bravery in every classroom. Especially during the shooting of Sandy Hook,when six heroines dies to save their students. This was a time when intense bravery was needed to overcome evil. Teachers, how much will you sacrifice for your school? If an assailant shows up in your school, will you do the things that no others will do? Together, I believe, we could all be a little bit braver. The health of the Bay has been on a downward roll, and something is needed to be done in order to halt it. An Analysis of Dover Beach Dover Beach intrigued me as soon as I read the title. I have a great love of beaches, so I feel a connection with the speaker as he or she stands on the cliffs of Dover, looking out at the sea and reflecting on life. Arnold successfully captures the mystical beauty of the ocean as it echoes human existence and the struggles of life. The moods of the speaker throughout the poem change dramatically, as do the moods of the sea. The irregular, undesirable rhyme is representative of these inharmonious moods and struggles.
"To the Lighthouse" is based on stream of conscious technique. It mainly deals with the different ways of perceiving the life. Many of the people in it are struggling to find answers to the answerable questions in the first section: `Who knows what we are? What we feel? These questions have reechoed in the third section. Similarly, there are number of issues which are left loose ended in first part have resolved and tied up in the third section.
