The nursing profession is very diverse and brings forth many opportunities and achievements. I personally think that the most meaningful ones come from direct patient care. As a nurse, I have taken care of numerous patients in different fields. At the end of day when I look back and know that I made a difference in someone’s life by caring for them in the most difficult time of their life, makes me feel very happy and proud. My passion for nursing and the desire to learn something new at every chance I get has enabled me to be an exceptional nurse, however, I have come across limitations in my scope of practice when taking care of patients. I am very organized and I have exceptional time management and prioritization skills. I realize that balancing the demands of school, work and family are very important and I am fully capable of handling them. In addition, I have full support from my family, friends and colleagues. I have a very encouraging husband who fully understands my desire to become a nurse practitioner. I have balanced my life and I have the determination to ensure that I have the highest probable chance of success in the MSN degree program. When I set a goal, I do everything in my power to achieve it. I plan my work, organize and proceed step by step, taking others in consideration, flexible, yet persistent until the goal is achieved. It is with this determination and sense of purpose that I will apply myself to the MSN degree program at Maryville University.
I think nursing is a gift, a gift that keeps giving and growing. I fully anticipate growing my knowledge base by becoming a family nurse practitioner and keep giving my gift to needy. My experiences and relationships developed during this program will continue to contribute to my list of my most meaningful
