Here is the report topic I have been selected to work on my final recommendation report. The basic problem for this current situation is less awareness of the society about the charitable services offer by the Salvation Army. Though the Salvation Army interact with the social media, it does not focus much on interacting with public relations, especially within the store. For charitable organizations, constant interaction with both media and public relations are really important in attracting donors, which ultimately enable the company to achieve its goals. I have been working for the Salvation Army Thrift Store for more than three years. As a Sales associate, I am often interacting with thrift store shoppers and donors to help find their needs and accept donations. The most frequent question the donors and customers ask is where the store money goes. It is clear that people are not well aware of what is happening with the process of Salvation Army Thrift Stores. Most often they believe it is just a place to buy things for very cheap prices. However, customers still bargain for the lower prices without realizing that even the money goes to charity. In addition, I have noticed that some donors leave items that are not accepted unintentionally as they are not aware of what is accepted or some leave garbage intentionally as an easy way to get rid of unwanted and unusable items.
