I am going to show you that the earth as you think of it does not exist. The round earth is a concept that has been burnt into our brains through our parents, school, and government. But the truth is we live on a flat earth.
Many people throughout time have had theories of what they perceive earth’s shape or composition to be. Whether it might be spherical or flat for a matter of reasons. The Babylonians thought that earth was hollow, to provide space for their underworld. The Egyptians thought the earth was a square, and at each corner laid mountains at the edge, supporting the vault of the sky. Anaximenes of Miletus believed that the earth is flat and rides on air. Other philosophers such as, Xenophanes of Colophon, Leucippus, Democritus thought the earth was flat and shaped like a drum.
According to Diogenes Laërtius, a biographer of Greek philosophers, Pythagoras was the first Greek philosopher who alluded that the earth is round, in 6

They did not want to hear my reasons because they thought the idea of a flat earth is absurd. See the thing is that we have been conditioned to react in this manner when this idea is presented to us. We are not all scientist so we just accept this information given to us. As much as we do not want to believe it, there are very powerful people who rule this world and we are just a slave in it. We are simply taught what we need to know to get through our daily lives. We live in an open prison where we are being controlled by these powerful people (Jesuits, the Vatican). The Jesuits and Vatican have been intimately involved in all things space including owning the earliest telescoped and to this day the largest owners of observatories and telescopes in the world. The society of Jesuits have been actively spreading the heliocentric theory for 500 years while trying to bury thousands of years of flat earth
The earth as we know it can be divided from the center outward into three concentric
when i was young, i went to school, for a short time. I used to think, that the world was flat. and box-like.
There are several different stories and theories as to how the Earth was created. Iroquois is a story of how a sky woman who disobeyed a single rule, not to touch the roots of the great tree. The Bible is similar a story which countless numbers of people believe, says that God created Adam. To company Adam he created a woman from one of his ribs, Adam named her Eve, she was to become mother of everything living.
There are many different myths and stories about how the world came to be. In the myth, The World on the Turtle’s Back, there is a woman in the ‘Sky World’ who was pregnant and craving bark from a tree that no one was allowed to touch. She went in an attempt to get the bark, in the process of doing this she fell through a hole and ended up in a strange world below. She was caught by a flock of birds and they sat her down on the back of a large turtle. “The creatures of the sea came to her and said that they would try to help her and ask her what they could do...
Catholic Theologians opposed the support of Columbus's plan as they said and stay on their situation that the earth was flat. In the period of Aristotle, Most Westerners that they are well-educated know that it is not flat, it is spherical. Who lived in the eighth century 4 BC who in Europe has studied on a large scale and venerations in middle ages. (Washington Irving's 1828)
It’s nearly certain that in the 1490s, no one thought the earth was flat. in keeping with historian “no educated person in the history of Western Civilization from the third century B.C. onward believed that the Earth was flat.” That was because of scientists, philosophers and mathematicians who, as early as around 600 B.C., created observations that Earth was spherical. The legend of Columbus' supposed flat earth theory is enticing, Problem is, it's totally false.
Nicholas Copernicus was the first to question the universal truths and teachings of the church. He devised a theory that the earth along with the other planets revolved around the sun. This theory disagreed with Aristotle and the old teachings that the universe revolved around the earth, and that man was the center of the universe.
Believe it or not, there is still a small group of people who believe this. One claim made by an article supporting this is that it is proven that the Earth is not round, which qualifies it as pseudoscience. This article says, “…explores several more modern proofs that the Earth is not spinning, rotating, revolving, tilting, wobbling, or shooting through infinite space as NASA has brainwashed us to believe.”(Proof the Earth Is Not Spinning, Rotating, or Revolving) This qualifies as pseudoscience because it talks of proof rather than
The Mayans believe that Mother Earth was a gigantic monster. It was an alligator, toad, and a turtle combined. Above her was a sky with a layer for each planet and spheres of movement for the sun and the moon. Below her was the underworld where heavenly bodies passed when out of sight. All around her were the spirits of rain and thunder. The deities of the food plants and animals attended her. All nature was alive and it was constantly dying and being reborn (Burland 1771).
Aristarchus lived from about the year 310 B.C. to about 230 B.C. Aristarchus was the first Greek philosopher and mathematician to make sense of the solar system. Others before him thought that the Earth is a sphere and that it moves, but he was the first to understand the heliocentric theory, which states that the sun is in the middle. In 288 or 287 B.C. he followed Theophrastus as the head of the Peripatetic School established by Aristotle.
The phrase: "the world is flat" can be interpreted in many ways. Basically what Friedman means by "flat" is "linked." The falling of trade and political barriers and technical advances have made it possible to do business, instantaneously with billions of other people around the world. It has allowed for parts of the world, which had previously been cut off, like China and India, to successfully compete in the world market. Thus, the playing field is being leveled, and no one nation has an advantage. Friedman could also refer to a "flat world" in a metaphorical sense. In a spherical earth you cannot see around the world and cannot recognize the opportunities far from where you live. If the world were flat you could see it all. There would be no barriers to get in your way. This is the equivalent to a smaller globe which allows one to reach far away opportunities.
He also used evidence based on observation. If the earth were not spherical, lunar eclipses would not show segments with a curved outline. Furthermore, when one travels northward or southward, one does not see the same stars at night, nor do they occupy the same positions in the sky. (De Caelo, Book II, chapter 14) That the celestial bodies must also be spherical in shape, can be determined by observation. In the case of the stars, Aristotle argued that they would have to be spherical, as this shape, which is the most perfect, allows them to retain their positions. (De Caelo, Book II, chapter 11) By Aristotle's time, Empedocles' view that there are four basic elements - earth, air, fire and water - had been generally accepted. Aristotle, however, in addition to this, postulated a fifth element called aether, which he believed to be the main constituent of the celestial bodies.
For the Greeks philosophy wasn’t restricted to the abstract it was also their natural science. In this way their philosophers were also their scientist. Questions such as what is the nature of reality and how do we know what is real are two of the fundamental questions they sought to answer. Pythagoras and Plato were two of the natural philosophers who sought to explain these universal principles. Pythagoras felt that all things could be explained and represented by mathematical formulae. Plato, Socrate’s most important disciple, believed that the world was divided into two realms, the visible and the intelligible. Part of the world, the visible, we could grasp with the five senses, but the intelligible we could only grasp with our minds. In their own way they both sought to explain the nature of reality and how we could know what is real.
In today’s society, many topics create a very substantial amount of controversy between different groups of people. From abortion to the healthcare reform, there are countless topics of discussion. One of the major and ongoing controversial topics in the religious society is the Big Bang theory versus Creation. One side of the controversy is, predominately, the scientific community, with the other end obviously being the religious community.
Physics began when man first started to study his surroundings. Early applications of physics include the invention of the wheel and of primitive weapons. The people who built Stone Henge had knowledge of physical mechanics in order to move the rocks and place them on top of each other. It was not until during the period of Greek culture that the first systematic treatment of physics started with the use of mechanics. Thales is often said to have been the first scientist, and the first Greek philosopher. He was an astronomer, merchant and mathematician, and after visiting Egypt he is said to have originated the science of deductive geometry. He also discovered theorems of elementary geometry and is said to have correctly predicted an eclipse of the sun. Many of his studies were in astronomy but he also observed static electricity. Phythogoras was a Greek philosopher. He discovered simple numerical ratios relating the musical tones of major consonances, to the length of the strings used in sounding them. The Pythagorean theorem was named after him, although this fundamental statements of deductive geometry was most likely first an idea from Egyptian methods of measurements. With the help of his followers he discovered that the earth was a sphere, but he did not believe it revolved around the sun.
