Rosa Louise McCauley Parks historically known as Rosa Parks, was born February 4,1913 in Tuskegee, Alabama and past away from natural causes at age 92, on October 24,2005 in Detroit, Michigan. Parks lived with her mother Leona McCauley and her father James McCauley. Martin Luther King was one of the greatest civil right activists in American history. Martin Luther King impacted American society in many ways and one of the most important things he did for America was weakening racism in America. At the time when he was living, colored people living America were treated differently with white people. For example colored people needed a pass to go through certain places, they could not go to the same school as white people and it was much harder for colored people to get a job compare to white people. Martin Luther king thought these were wrong. He also thought these were against American dream. For him American dream meant every people having equal rights, opportunity and freedom. What was happening in America were completely against these. To fix this problem, Martin Luther King moved around the country and did nonviolent protest and organized a peaceful marching which attracted national attention showing brutality of police that were trying to stop the march. Martin Luther King, Jr., overcame struggles during his time which were, racism, discrimination and segregation. He was not always named Martin and neither was his father. Around the first time Martin, Jr., got baptized him and his father changed their names from Michael to Martin. King was born on January 15, 1929. He died on April 4, 1968. Martin graduated with a bachelor's degree in divinity studies. He then enters Boston University. Not to long after that did he marry Corrette Scott in Marion, Alabama, on June 18, 1953. He had three kids by the names of Yolanda Denise, Martin Luther King the third, Bernice Albertina and Dexter Scott. All during this time colored people are being discriminated against and Martin wants to put a stop to it. Because of his acts to stop racism his birthday was made a national holiday on November 2, 1983.

Rosa Louise Parks has passed away due to a heart attack on December 30, 2002. Rosa lived a happy life and was the daughter of deceased James and Leona McCauley. She lived with her husband Raymond Parks at the age of 19. Rosa Parks was a brave, determined and motivational woman She was known as the “mother of the modern day civil rights movement”. She will be remembered for her courageous acts during her lifetime.

At the age of nine, Sojourner and her younger brother Peter were both sold in the auction to different families, that's when her journey away from her parents began.

In the words of Dr. King: “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” (feministactivism.com) This states that any unjust act can affect anyone all around the world. None of what Parks did was easy, but she set her mind to it and did it.
Civil disobedience played a huge role in history. Many things have happened that have changed an enormous amount of people's lives and changed the world for eternity. African Americans were greatly affected in the 1900s and the years before then. The two important people that changed the world, even after their deaths, are Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks.

She influenced the change of African American rights, which helped develop the Civil Rights Movement. Rosa Parks helped influenced society, when she said no to a white male for her seat. The boycott of African American rights started after Rosa Parks did not give up her seat. Rosa Parks did not know she was going to influence society, nor did she know she was going to get arrested by doing this. Rosa Parks influence has helped change society and also is still a great example to others today.
Overall, Rosa Parks, with the support of the black community & many other people, become a huge icon in the Civil Rights movement. Because of the Montgomery Bus Boycott it changed the view for many people on how they treated each other back then. Even though Rosa may not have realized at the time how much of an impact she would make, the reaction that she had to the Montgomery Bus Boycott made many benefits on how we treated each other

In (Rosmanitz, N.D.) 1963 Martin Luther King gathered hundreds of thousands of Americans, black and white designed a march protest for equal rights in Washington D.C. The Lincoln Memorial is where Martin Luther king also gave his speech “I have a dream”. He is best known for his role in the of civil rights act using nonviolent in the civil rights act based on his Christian beliefs.
