Most people stand up and show courage when one is getting treated wrongly and unfairly. In the book Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry, by Mildred Taylor, Stacey had to show courage when him and his family is being faced with racial discrimination. Stacey is in 7th grade and has 3 other siblings, He has to show courage for his big family. Stacey had to show courage when:he took blame for T.J.´s cheat notes, planning to stop the school bus and taking T.J. home.

Stacey stood up and showed courage when he took the blame for T.J´s cheat notes. T.J stole cheat notes from Mrs. Logan's desk, then in class he used them for big test. Stacey saw T.J with the notes and told him that he did not need to cheat and before Stacey could even blink T.J had thrown the notes to Stacey because Mrs. Logan was coming to them. One, day the Logan children were walking to school, it was a day of thunderstorms and lots of rain. The bus passes them forcing to get of the road into the muddy gully to avoid getting ran over. Stacey had a plan, he was tired of the bus making them get dirty before school. Stacey had a plan to stop the bus by digging a ditch across the road to make it look like the road was washed away by the rain. All Stacey was thinking was revenge, revenge for all the times they got drenched and all the times the white children would yell at them. Even the the kids wanted revenge, page 40 says,¨ Little Man volunteered, ready to do anything for his revenge¨. The plan worked, Stacey´s planned worked. The bus broke down and the axle broke there was no way the bus could be fixed very fast. On page 41 it states, ¨Girl ya'll all gonna be walkin´ for at least two weeks by the time we get this thing hauled outa here and up to Strawberry to get it fixed.¨ Stacey ended up getting the revenge he
