Sheryl Sandberg came to Ted to give a speech in 2010. She had a story about her preschool daughter and asked Pat, the CEO if she could add it to her speech. Pat responded with “Absolutely tell that story.” That’s when Sandberg then realized she could help others especially, woman by being honest about her own experiences and challenges. Sheryl Sandberg says “I tried to be authentic and share my truth”. She also says “she feels short of doing it all and it felt good to not only admit it to others but herself.” When you give a speech you should always want to be authentic, open, and transparent.
