When a commercial is produced, its main purpose is to convince viewers that what they are advertising is worth investing money on. With, this hospital being non-profit hospital they rely exclusively on donations from various organizations or members of the community for raise money to continue the treatment and care for the many patients that are seeking medical attention every day. With commercials like the celebrity endorsed “Thanks and Giving” commercial, various celebrities are using their popularity to help get the hospital the donations needed to fund all the amazing things that go on in the hospital. The main purpose of these celebrity-endorsed commercials is to inspire viewers to donate to the foundation, by ingeniously incorporating various rhetorical appeals in hopes to sway viewers to supporting the foundation. These women expressed that these kids don’t want toys for Christmas all they want is to get better and not have to fight for their lives every single day. When the producers made the choice to use well-known celebrities, the chances for donations have increased drastically. In doing this the audience feels the burning desire to donate to seem like the celebrity icons in the commercial.
