Old Major pinpoints and labels humanity as the enemy, using them as a scapegoat for all the animals’ problems. In this particular instance, when he was addressing the animals’ problems during his speech “Is it not crystal clear, then, comrades, that all evils of this life of ours spring from the tyranny of human beings?” From this instance, Old Major’s usage of ethos leads the animals into believing that their every misfortune and problem is caused by the greedy humans.
