Before taking Composition I, I thought of myself as a very strong writer. Throughout all of my high school courses I always excelled at any writing assignment that I was given. I was a master of the five-paragraph essay and MLA format and did not think there was anything else I needed to learn, but I was blatantly wrong. Going into the first day of Composition I, I was nervous because I had heard that it was a time consuming class, but I was still confident in my own abilities.
