Recommended: Learning experience from internship

My field placement is at the VA in Tuskegee, Alabama. At this time, I have not observed any negative situations. However, I have witnessed several positive experiences. I arrived at the VA on the first day of class (Monday, May 15, 2017) and was given warm smiles and good mornings by the staff members. With the negative stigma that is often attached to VA, I was unsure of what to expect. However, everyone was extremely friendly. As I got onto the elevator, a staff member greeted me and spoke with me about my new role as an intern and encouraged me to take advantage of my learning experience.
