Reflection For School Board Meeting

I went to the school board meeting on March 21, 2016 in Kanawha. The following people were at the council: Wayne Kronneman, Leah Deutsch, Ryan Hiscocks, Ryan Johnson, Jay Burgardt, Mona Buns, Gary Chizek, Todd Hammer, and Jon Harle. The others were mainly community member which included teachers, principals, parents and supporters. Some of the West Hancock staff included Mr. Peterson, Mrs. DeHart, Mrs. Bruns, Mr. Francis, Mrs. Gast and others. The other people who were there were parents and other community members. The first part of the meeting was the revision of the budget and presentation of the budget. This was given by Wayne Kronneman. He explained the budget of this year and how it compared to last years. I guess one other subject would be the laptops that are given to students or even all of the school districts. The laptops are not reliable at all and they cause more problems than they solve problems. I am not saying we need to buy the best or the most expensive, but it would not hurt to buy a more reliable laptop that will work and are durable. Another issue I would bring up, is probably the school lunches. I feel that we do not get enough and also we do not get the necessary nutrients and vitamins. Athletes need more food than the average student who is not active.
I think I would ever really run for school board or city council. I have really have no interest in these kinds of matters. These matters were important to me in the meeting because it directly affected me, but in the future, I don’t think I would be motivated enough to join a council or board like that. To me, I would feel no sense of accomplishment even though those decisions do matter. Maybe as I have children in the future, I’ll see the need to be in one but even then I would still be reluctant in
