The movie Rain Man (1988) was written by Brass Ronald and Morrow Barry and was directed by Levinson Barry. The film depicts a narrative of a selfish and rude young merchant, Babbitt Charlie. He realizes that his father has died and has left all his multi-billion wealth to his brother, Raymond. Charlie only inherits a few rose bushes and a car from his father. He did not know the existence of Raymond. Notably, Raymond has challenges in communication since he is an autistic savant. For this reason, he kidnaps his brother aiming to acquire the inheritance especially money that Raymond gained from his deceased father (YouTube, 2012). The movie illustrates how an individual suffering from this disorder exhibits both outstanding abilities and skills in a particular area even devoid of practice as well as disabilities and deficiencies. In this case, Raymond demonstrates advanced memory capabilities and mathematical competences, which the film exposes in an outstanding uncanny, but in an interesting manner (YouTube, 2012). Nevertheless, what makes persons with this communication disorder provoking for others particularly, close friends and relatives is the fact that they lack interest in developing interactions with others. First, most parents and relatives do not know how to deal with this communication disorder. For instance, in the case of Raymond, he was normally left alone at home watching television (YouTube, 2012). His only companion at the time was Judge Wapner from the ‘People’s Court’ TV Show. Fortunately, these challenges were overcome. Although the film illustrates an autistic person in an emotional way that it may be difficult to form a bond, the people in his environment were still able to build a relationship. After interacting with him, Charlie develops a sense of brotherhood, which increases the feeling of love and compassion. Especially when he finds out that his imaginary friend Rain Man, who would sing to him when he was scared as a child is his older brother. Most importantly, Charlie develops personal change after interacting with his brother (YouTube, 2012).
