Racism is an issue that has affected this country since the beginning of time, whether it was the Native Americans, Blacks, Chinese, Japanese, or Muslims. There are many different reasons for all, but the people who are affected have suffered regardless. The one that’s been in mainstream media and have recently received the most hatred is Muslims. It started in 2001, with Al-Qaeda and spread with ISIS over the years. It has affected the Muslim community and my own family both emotional and physically.
The overwhelming racism against Muslims didn’t start overnight or due to the superiority complex like with the blacks. It started on September 11, 2001, the day Al-Qaeda hijacked 4 airplanes, crashed two of the planes into the World Trade Center …show more content…

Many Muslims are being searched on the basis of being Muslim and no other logical or probable cause. One issue leads to another causing fear, hatred, and the desire for revenge and revenge can sometimes get out of hand. Furthermore, ISIS claims to be Muslim when in fact the Quran frowns upon such acts. Also Americans don’t want to see the fact that ISIS isn’t only targeting Christian nations, but also Muslims countries. The first ISIS attacks first started in 2013 in Iraq, killing 1041 and injuring 2,200+, later in 2104 they expanded to the west totaling 6 dead and 12 injured. Later in 2015/2016, the attacks got larger and more devastating. Even then ISIS didn’t only attack western countries but also Middle Eastern Muslims countries like Pakistan, Egypt, Syria, Turkey etc. Yet, these Middle Eastern countries got less attention and more blame. ISIS bombed Karrada, Baghdad, and suspected to have bombed one of the holiest sites in Islam, the Prophet 's Mosque in Medina, Saudi Arabia. All of this occurred in the holy month of Ramadan, when every other Muslims was praying and fasting for god; and yet they dare call themselves an Islamic
