Should college athletes be paid for playing?

There is a lot of discussions about college athletes being paid, if they should or they shouldn’t. People say the should get paid because they are entertaining the fans. Some people don’t believe that they should get paid because they already have scholarships to the school so the school is wasting money and paying them. This topic is very controversial, many people have different opinions about this topic.

Some reasons that they should get paid is because they put their bodies on the line each game they play. Some people can have career ending injuries when they are playing in college and they couldn’t go pro because of that. These student-athletes bring in an incredible amount of money. Paying college athletes would help to begin creating a sense of financial awareness. Some bad things about paying college athletes is that they already have scholarships and don’t have to pay tuition or anything, while other students have to be paying tuition hand have student debt while playing sports. Other reasons is that it is to difficult. It is difficult because the only sports that attract people are football and basketball, so it will be difficult to pay all the athletes. If people never get into this topic they won’t be able to see if college athletes should be getting paid. They are dedicating their life into this to see if they would make it farther and maybe into professionals. If they have s career ending injury that would have to stop and focus on just school work instead of making it into the professionals. If athletes wants to play college sports they would have to concentrate on playing and focus on school work.
