The death penalty should be abolished because it is inhumane, it can’t bring back what has been lost, it leads more felons to be out of money and simply forced into Death row, it publicizes homicide and kidnappings, and other issues I will discuss in my argument.

The cost for taxpayers for capital punishment is several times the price it is to keep a criminal in prison for life. Capital punishment isn’t a decision that is made overnight for an offender. The criminal could be on death row for fifteen to twenty years. Due to legal matter, appeals, and other procedures, the amount of money going into one criminal is a much larger amount than keeping them sentenced to life in prison.
Cruel and unusual punishment should not be done according to the Bill of Rights as U.S. citizens. State sanctioned murder is cruel and unusual punishment. If we condemn other countries for murdering their people while we continue to execute our people, we have nothing to say. While we take care of ours more humane, it is still inhumane.
The courts take serious long term action before acting on capital punishment. This backs up the courts and other cases. If we abolished the death penalty completely, we could remove all the back and forth of the hearings, briefings, and appeals. The backup is due to long cases like the death penalty because it is such a serious and drastic decision. If we abolish it and find other ways to punish like life sentencing, we could avoid the
