Sometimes people often wonder why certain things happen, or sometimes often wonder why certain things had to happen to them out of everyone else. A lot of people go insane or depressed over the lost of a loved one. The sad part about this though is that they didn’t just die from old age or cancer, they died from something much worse they got murdered. A lot of people don’t know how to react to such a horrible tragedy. Some people try to seek revenge or try to get closure from losing somebody so unexpectedly but for the states that don’t have the death penalty, not all get that closure or comfort. The death penalty has always been one of the most hotly debated issues in the United States.

The jurors who convicted a man of raping and fatally shooting a Glendale women 37 years ago begin deliberating Tuesday whether he should be sentenced to death or not. Darrell Gurule, 57 was convicted last month for murthering Barbara Ballman, whose naked body, was found lying across the front seat of her car. The body was found by a group of 4th graders walking to school, in the morning. “He stripped her of her clothes, he stripped her from her pride, he stripped her from anything that made her human” Deputy district attorney Jonathan Chung told the jury. “Then he shot her and killed her” Barbara Ballman was attacked after leaving her older sister's house, that night. She was helping babysit her nephew. This case went cold for a long time because he was already serving a life sentence for kidnaping and shooting a man in 1987. This crazy man just didn’t stop, nor did he want to stop. Before he decided to take away two more lives, before when he was only 17 years old he held a woman at gunpoint and forced her to have sex with him. Then, two years later he was involved in a shotgun assault, and in 1982 he beat and robbed a 65 year old veteran. One of the most frustrating things about the turn out of this case is that it didn’t end in a death penalty. But some people may not know exactly know what is going on or might just be confused on this subject. As many people were taught growing up is that everything you do always has a consequence for it. Now, when people try to understand the death penalty it’s important to remember that, that person put himself in that position. Not a whole a lot of people wake up one morning and say “It’s a good day to get murdered” nor do they say “It’s a good day to get raped” With that being said, it’s important to remember that, that person is in complete control of their own actions. Nobody should have to feel bad about somebody else's choices and their consequences that are followed along with
