Political socialization starts at a very young age for most people. When growing up you learn and learn a little about pretty much everything. Growing up and living in the United States of America you learn, very vaguely, at a young age about our government, political parties, the presidents, and so on. At a young age these things may not make full sense and are just something you know little or a lot about. Weather you get this information from a Mother, a Father, grandparents, cousins, friends, teachers, and so forth you learn to know that they know very much about these topics and try to inform you as much as possible about these topics. But with these topics everyone, no matter who they are, have their own opinion about each topic. One of the main deciding factors of political parties is your parents. Weather you have a Mom, a Dad, or both, they are your family and you look up to them and want to feel a part of that. You can turn on any news station and see something and automatically think it’s true without even questioning the facts or where it came from. The media plays a huge role in politics and in our role with politics in society. The media is one of the main sources where people get their information about politics today and will always be a huge source. There are news stations that lean more left and there are some that lean more right. Every news station is about the same when it comes to news and reporting but they all report and present the news in different ways. All reporters and journalists have their own opinion on political parties and the news they capture can depend on their political belief. Reporters report what they think is news and what will get people’s attention regarding political parties. And people tune into the news they agree with and what they want to
